Here at NuVet we are able to offer cutting edge dental surgery. Ideally, prevention is better than cure, but sometimes it can become necessary to repair or extract teeth. All our vets are qualified to treat and extract teeth. Marwan has been on several dedicated dental courses to improve his skills, which he has then passed on to the whole team. We also have a visiting vet dentist – Paul Hobson – for our more advanced cases.
Paul offers an advanced dental service, and visits NuVet once or twice a month. Often, when a tooth is damaged, we have several choices. While extraction used to be our only option for many problems, and is still the best choice in many cases, Paul allows us to look at other procedures like root canal therapy. For example, on the right, this broken tooth has undergone root canal treatment.
We recommend that all broken tooth are either repaired like this tooth, or extracted, to prevent pain and infection.
